Eyes are the windows to the soul- goes the famous saying! All women out there may be knowing this or not but they know that without eye makeup, their beauty doesn't show up! Thus, like other women cosmetics, the eye cosmetics products are also very popular among the women all over the world. Eye Makeup ProductsEyeliner- Eyeliners give color to the area around the contours of the eyes in order to accent and highlight the appearance of the eyes. Kohl- Kohl is one of the most ancient eye cosmetics used mostly by women in Asian, Middle East and African countries. Kohl can, in fact, be called a type of eyeliner available in dark matte shades, often black color which is used to outline the eyes. Kohl comes in various forms- pencil, pressed powder, or loose powder form and is more likely to smudge.
Eye Primer- Eye primer is used as a base before applying any other eye cosmetics like eyeshadow and eyeliner, etc. Just as skin cosmetic product 'foundation' is applied on skin before applying any other makeup product, eye primer is applied before putting on other eye cosmetics. It helps in avoiding the eyelid creases that result due to eyeshadow application and in keeping the eyeshadow and liner from running and smudging. Eye primer, sometimes referred to as eyeshadow primer generally comes in a gel like form that can be applied on eyelids before applying eyeshadow. Most types of eyeshadow primers come in either a tube or small tub and are applied with a makeup brush or with a wand with a soft end. As eyeshadow primer is not meant to accent the eyelids with color but to prepare the eyelids for eyeshadow, they come in shades that blend in with most skin tones.
Eye Shadow-Eye shadow is that eye cosmetic which is applied on the eyelids and under the eyebrows to add depth and dimension to the eyes. Eye shadows come in different colors and textures. They usually come in powder or cream base form but can also be found in liquid, pencil, or mousse form. Eye shadows can be applied sheer or layered for a more dramatic effect. The richly pigmented eye shadow powder can be blended or can also be used wet for precisely lining the eyes. Eyeshadow stickers too are becoming popular as instant eye makeup solution.
Mascara- Mascara is one of the most commonly used eye cosmetics to darken, thicken, lengthen, and defining the eyelashes. Mascara come in three common forms- liquid, cake, and cream form. Liquid mascara that comes in a tube is applied with a round brush or wand. The modern mascara eye products have various formulas but all of them contain the same basic components of pigments, oils, waxes, and preservatives. Waterproof mascara is capable of holding on perfectly even when the wearer swims or sheds tears. There are various types of mascara like clear mascaras and primers that thicken the lashes without adding color; and the colored mascaras in different shades like lime green, gold, and pink. Different types of eye care products can be found in the market to help women in their eye care. These eye care products do not only include the fashion eye wear like goggles; UV protect glasses; artificial tears to lubricate the eyes; and natural food supplements to nourish eyes but also certain eye products that are in the form of cosmetics such as eye creams, gels and lotions as well as serum to prevent or conceal dark eye circles, puffiness of eyes, under eye bags, eye scrub, eye wrinkle cream as well as eye make up remover to prevent the ill effects of harmful ingredients found in eye cosmetics.
Eye Cream- Eye cream is a special tested moisturizer that can be used near the eyes. These eye creams do not damage the soft tissue around the eyes nor cause eye irritation. Some eye cream products are made up of such ingredients like caffeine, retinol, or vitamin C that help in getting firm skin. These reasons make eye make removers very popular eye products. Eye makeup remover is also very effective against long-wearing or waterproof eye makeup. Eye makeup removers come in gel, liquid, or cleansing pad form. They are usually oil-based cleansing products for eyes but are also available in some oil-free versions for sensitive eyes.
