Types of Beauty Cosmetics

When talking about types of beauty cosmetics, it can be seen from the perspective of the types of face cosmetics used for make up; or the types of cosmetic ingredients used for manufacturing beauty cosmetic products. The first one will produce a list of beauty face cosmetics that we will cover in the next section. As far as the division of beauty cosmetics based upon the ingredients used is concerned, there are basically two types of beauty cosmetics products- the mineral cosmetics or the mineral based cosmetics; and the natural cosmetics or organic cosmetics made with natural ingredients like plant derivatives and herbs etc. And there is one more type of beauty cosmetic- the good old traditional makeup cosmetics! However, these traditional cosmetics contain various chemicals that may or may not be harmful ingredients for cosmetics. So, nowadays not only the modern women but all the cosmetic companies focus on either mineral cosmetics or the natural or organic cosmetics.

Mineral Cosmetic

Mineral Cosmetics are basically the loose powder makeup cosmetics that are made- as the name suggests- from minerals or the earth-based ingredients. The popular mineral cosmetics like loose powder foundations and blushes are light, finely ground loose minerals that are buffed into the skin with the help of wide, fluffy brush. These mineral beauty cosmetics contain such pigments as mica, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide etc. These cosmetic ingredients, however, are also present in the traditional beauty cosmetics but the difference lies in the fact that most of these mineral cosmetics manufacturers do not use the irritant ingredients like fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, talc, and preservatives etc. Thus, mineral cosmetics are considered skin friendly cosmetics as they are purer and kinder to the skin.

Natural Cosmetics

Natural cosmetics are made of natural ingredients like plant oils, fats and waxes, herbal extracts, essential oils, aromatic materials derived from organic or biological cultivation. These natural cosmetics, often referred to as green cosmetics provide a healthy alternative to cosmetics products made with toxic chemicals. Most of the natural cosmetics manufacturers make natural beauty cosmetics without animal testing and with the use of organic cosmetic ingredients as well as use eco friendly and recyclable containers for packaging them. Sometimes difference is made between natural and organic cosmetics too. Natural beauty cosmetics are said to be made from pure and undiluted plant derivatives without any additives, preservatives or chemicals while organic cosmetics are made organically from plants and other organic sources and do not use any synthetic ingredients or even genetically modified organisms.
